How
to spot legitimate Hancock Bank Email messages
In
order to help you identify phishing attempts. Hancock Bank has established
policies regarding how we will email you. By establishing standards
for how we'll address you, the types of information we will ask
for from you via email, and the types of information we'll share
through email, we hope to make it easier for you to identify any
phishing attempts that may come your way.

you do receive a suspicious email message. Don't respond. Instead,
forward a copy of that message to us at Phished@HancockBank.com
and delete the message. Never click any links or attachments in
a suspicious email.
Hancock
Bank Email Standards
- Email
messages from Hancock Bank will address you by name or by the
name of the business associated with your Hancock Bank account.
We will not send email messages with a generic greeting
such as "Dear Customer"or "Dear HandyNet®
User."
- We
do not use email messages to collect personal information (account
numbers, social security numbers, ATM/check card numbers, passwords,
etc.). If we require information from you, we may notify you
by email and request such information, but only after you have
securely signed-on to HandyNet® Online banking at https://secure.handynetob.hancockbank.com/.
- We
do not send unsolicited email messages with directions to download
attachments or software programs. The bank will only send you
an email with an attachment in response to your personal request
for such an attachment and the attachments will either be password
protected or sent via secure email, if applicable.
