Hancock Bank to fête new Lake District Financial Center this Friday

ALEXANDRIA, LA (May 23, 2006) - Hancock Bank's bright beacon of financial services excellence now shines across one of this Red River city's most dynamic new residential and commercial neighborhoods; and community leaders and Hancock officers will celebrate Friday, May 26, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. with official ribbon-cutting festivities at the new Hancock Bank Lake District Financial Center at 203 Ansley Boulevard.

Nestled at the gateway to Alexandria's Lake District development, the 4,250 square-foot facility opened less than a month ago along the busy Highway 28 West corridor. Local Hancock bankers say the brand new location features a full array of consumer and commercial financial solutions tailored to support families and businesses throughout the growing greater Alexandria community.

"We are extremely excited to welcome folks to our new Lake District office. The building itself reflects Hancock's new architectural standards. Additionally, our financial experts can now offer customers all of the on-site conveniences of traditional lobby banking, consumer and business loans, mortgage services, trusts and investments, insurance, 225 new safe deposit boxes, expanded drive-through options, night depository, and 24-hour drive-up ATM," said Hancock Bank Lake District branch manager and assistant vice president Vanessa Barger.

The Lake District center is almost twice the size of Hancock's old North MacArthur Drive branch. Barger, an Alexandria native with 11 years' financial services experience, said Hancock decided to consolidate services at the North MacArthur location with the Lake District office to create a larger, more comfortable, and more easily accessible full-service financial center for area customers.

Visitors to the branch can also register to win a signed, numbered, and framed "Tranquility" print by award-winning Central Louisiana artist Waven Boone, nationally recognized for capturing the essence of his native state's rich heritage through several different mediums.

"As local residents, our Lake District team has a vested interest in helping Alexandria grow while preserving our unique traditions. Mr. Boone's work symbolizes the customs and cultures of our hometown, and we're very pleased to offer this limited edition print as a drawing prize," Barger added.

Hancock Holding Company (NASDAQ: HBHC) - parent company of Hancock Bank (Mississippi), Hancock Bank of Louisiana, Hancock Bank of Florida, and Magna Insurance Company - has assets of $6.26 billion. Founded in 1899, Hancock Bank stands among the strongest, safest financial institutions in the United States and is the only financial services company headquartered in the Gulf South to rate among the top 20 percent of America's top-performing banks. Additional corporate information and on-line banking and bill pay services are available online.
