Sunday, September 4, 2005
Hancock Bank is scheduled to open more
than 45 of its 102 branches on Labor Day as the company continues
to help Gulf Coast citizens with their recovery efforts from Hurricane
Katrina.
"We want to assure the community that we have faced difficult
circumstances in the past, the most notable being Hurricane Camille,
and we have always responded. That will be the case again as together
we rebuild," said Leo W. Seal, Jr., Hancock's Chairman. "Hancock
Bank commends the entire community for its outstanding volunteerism
and hard work during these trying times, and employees of Hancock
Bank are committed to helping Mississippi and Louisiana recover."
Hancock Bank officials on Friday announced that six Mississippi
branches would be open Labor Day to assist customers with their
banking and financial needs. That number was later increased to
16, with the number Monday expected to exceed more than 45 branches
