BILOXI, MS (February 10, 2009) - Local leaders and Hancock Bank officials will "Celebrate Biloxi!" Friday, February 13, 2009, with another high point in the city's ongoing post-Hurricane Katrina revitalization: the grand opening of a new 12,125-square-foot Hancock Bank Financial Center at 888 Howard Avenue, in the heart of Biloxi's downtown district.

Commemorating Biloxi's rich history and diverse culture, festivities at the new Biloxi Hancock Bank include a ribbon-cutting this Friday, February 13th, at 10:30 a.m. followed by samplings of Biloxi cuisine from local restaurants and businesses. Characters legendary in the city's 300-year history will make guest appearances portrayed by Biloxi High School drama students.

Visitors to the branch can also register to win a grand-prize "Grill & Boil" set, including a gift certificate to Biloxi's Quality Poultry & Seafood, Inc.

The two-story, turn-of-the-century-inspired building at Howard Avenue and Caillavet Street replaces a nearby modular unit erected shortly after Katrina's massive surge gutted Hancock's Biloxi beachfront location. Incorporating innovative design and technology with graceful European influences prevalent in much of the city's historic architecture, the branch also includes a second-floor, multi-purpose community meeting room. Hancock bankers say the new landmark is another tangible symbol of the bank's longstanding commitment to Biloxi and a flagship location in Hancock's four-state, I-10 corridor market.

"Hancock Bank made a conscious decision to rebuild in the downtown area. We are so proud and grateful to be part of Biloxi's past, present, and future; and we believe this new location embodies Biloxi's unique heritage and the resilient spirit of her people. We hope the traditional look will encourage more downtown preservation and create a standard for future growth throughout the city," said branch manager Barbra Finley, a 25-veteran of Biloxi banking.

Hancock's new Biloxi financial center offers comprehensive personal and business banking solutions with traditional lobby banking, three drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM, safe deposit boxes, and on-site mortgage services, consumer and commercial loans, small business banking, insurance, wealth management, and trust and investment services.

Genzer-WHL Architecture in Biloxi was the architectural firm for the new Biloxi Hancock Bank; Wink Companies, LLC, of d'Iberville, the engineering firm; and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company, the general contractor.
