The Credit Analysis Program is a Commercial Lender Training program designed to prepare new hires to build a career as a Commercial Lender or Community Business Banker.  

Program Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Finance or Accounting.
  • Above average GPA.
  • Genuine interest in learning and working in the banking profession
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures required for this position
  • Knowledge of accounting sufficient to understand and analyze the relationships between the different financial statements in order to produce written analysis of commercial loans to be used in the decision process
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, judgment/discernment, and self motivation to work with minimal supervision
  • Above average interpersonal and communications skills
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Self-Starter

Program Highlights

  • Duration: 18 months broken into 3 modules with increasing responsibility and evaluations
  • Location for 18 months of Training: Gulfport, MS
  • Location after training: Designated market upon hire
  • Training consists of on-the-job assignments in all major areas of Credit Analysis
  • Community Involvement through programs such as Big Brother/Big Sister program, active "civic" club membership, fundraising participation, school mentoring.

Program Curriculum
Credit Analysts can expect to learn the following basic job functions:

  • Analyze loans to include preparing spreading financial statements, cash flow analysis, and profitability models
  • Provide thorough written analysis of loan
  • Participate in preparing assigned reports as required for both Senior and Directors Loan Committees
  • Provide Support for Senior Loan Committee and Directors Loan Committee

Career Path
Career path is dependant on satisfactory evaluations. Some possibilities include:

  • Commercial Lender Trainee
  • Community Business Banker Trainee
